Director Won Kyungsun's bellows, and bellows-blowing
Hand-bellows from traditional Korean society. It was employed in forging tools for blowing wind into fireplace in order to make the fire stronger. A device for blowing is set inside the wooden box.
In 1955 director Won built a farm and a community naming it Pulmuone. With farm works and teachings of the Bible, as his bellows-blowing, he wished to make Pulmuwon a place to turn to to become strong and able human beings, for those somewhat slow, hurt or, with no home to go.
The director's century-long life was an untiring bellows-blowing to change people and the world for the better.
Therefore we have chosen bellows as the symbol of Won Kyungsun Memorial Hall. The four exhibition rooms are thus named after each of the four elements essential in bellows-blowing: earth, fire, water, and wind.
We cordially invite you to meet the late director in this modest exhibition.
