The 2nd exhibition room: Fire
This space served as a dining room and kitchen.
This room mostly traces the period from 1949 up to 1976. In 1949 he started a farm at Buchon; in 1955 he set up the Pulmuone Farm and Pulmuone Community based on the Buchon Farm; in 1976 the Pulmuone Farm was moved to Yangju, where he initiated organic farming.
Here you can meet the director of the time when a small ember of his lifelong pursuit--communial life and organic farming--blazed up through his bellows-blowing.
This space was used for both cooking and dining. Therefore in the middle of the room is installed a sink, on the top panel of which is represented a communal dining table in mixed media style by Kim Inkoo, for a community is based on working together and eating together.
